CCR Leaders Formation Session
"CHARISMS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT"
The 15-17 of June will be days remembered as a joyful event for the 59 participants of the formation programme who learnt how to yield and unleash the Charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit. The gifts are our spiritual heritage flowing out from being baptised in the Holy Spirit. As seen in the life of saints.
The presenter Jude Antoine in a vibrant and systematic way introduced the presence of Charisms in all baptised Catholics who BELIEVE. While quoting Scripture and the Vatican Documents, he was also very clear in cautioning the participants that the Charism were meant for (i) the up building of the Church and in the world for the good of mankind (ii) They are to be used in submission to the leaders of Prayer Groups, Parish priest, Bishop and the in accordance to the Teachings of the Catholic Church. (iii) Being gifted in the charism does not mean that one is Holy. We need to surrender daily to the Holy Spirit to transform us and to grow in Holiness.
Below are extracts of what the participants had to say. Due to space constraints only a few are quoted.
BEFORE THE SEMINAR:
Was an observer and not directly involved at prayer meetings.
I knew very little of the charisms.
I knew the charisms by name.
Not sure on how they operated.
Lack of knowledge and guidance. Only one or two charisms working in my life.
AFTER THE SEMINAR:
Have a better understanding of charisms covered. Having a personal experience of ‘prophecy' and ‘discernment' very encouraging.
I have received more than I expected in the teachings and in the workshops.
I can now pray in tongues. Charisms activated through the power of the Holy Spirit. Need to discern which or all the charisms God wants me to glorify Him with.
Have greater insight that God can work through our ‘hearing' feelings and our mental faculties.
I need to grow deeper in my relationship with God and to be sensitive to His promptings.

Pastoral Guidelines for the Ministry of Deliverance
The following guidelines have been approved by the Conference of Bishops as of January 2007 as additions to the "Pastoral guidelines for the ministry of Deliverance approved in 1982"
1. Deliverance can be preformed by Charismatic deliverance team recognised by the DST or teams appointed by the Parish Priests.
2. It is desirable that the deliverance team also include a doctor, male and female members.
3. Members of the deliverance team need to attend on-going formation programmes organised for the development of this ministry.
4. Team members should seek the consultation of the Parish priest of the person involved when a need for deliverance is recognised.
Message from the
new President of ICCRS

Michelle Moran
( England )
It is my great privilege and honour to greet all of you in the world-wide CCR for the first time as your president. I have been involved in Catholic Charismatic Renewal since the late 1970's. In fact, I came to know Jesus and was baptised in the Holy Spirit at the same time. This means that all my Christian life has been in lived in the Renewal. Over the years I have experienced many times the 'surprises of the Spirit'. It is now with complete surprise but great joy that I find myself elected as the new president of ICCRS. I realise that I follow in the footsteps of several previous presidents all who have had great faith, wisdom and holiness. In this situation it is easy to feel inadequate, however, I firmly believe that when God calls us He equips us and in our weakness we see His strength.
As I embrace my new responsibilities I am deeply grateful to the Lord for providing me with a loving, supportive and faith filled husband Peter. Last year we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, and during our Jubilee year we were able to reflect upon many blessings and give God thanks that our entire married life has been in the Lord and in CCR. As founder members of Sion Community for Evangelism, here in England , we have been ministering together full time for most of our married life. It is reassuring for me to know that with my increased responsibilities I am surrounded by a community of love, support and intercession.
I sense there is something symbolic about taking over the presidency during this 40th anniversary year. In the Renewal we have been formed, we have grown as a movement of the Spirit but we are now entering into a new land and this in turn will present us with both new opportunities and new challenges. So I am excited about all that the Lord has in store for us. I pray for the Joshua anointing that I may be able to be fearless and confident trusting in the Lord and that He will lead all of us forward step by step.
As I begin to take over the mantle of leadership from Allan I ask for your prayers and support. I am aware that there is so much that I need to learn about leadership in a world-wide context. I cannot promise you that I will not make mistakes and if these come to your attention I ask for your forgiveness. I do however promise to be faithful in as much as I am able to the task that God has called me. May His name be glorified and may this new era of CCR be as exciting and fruitful as the last 40 years.
