CCR Leaders Retreat
About 40 people belonging to the K.L Archdiocese Charismatic Prayer Groups attended a 4 day retreat at the Minor Seminary in Melaka recently. Fr. Andrew's focus was the discipleship lessons garnered from the best book on the subject – ‘the Bible' - where some unforgettable discipleship walks are recorded.
Fr Andrew started of by sharing with the group some examples from the Bible where people responded to this vocation to discipleship in various situations. Lessons which we can learn, as we walk the paths which God calls us to tread. Certainly being a disciple is no bed of roses and there is a cost to it. Sacrifice and letting go of areas that we find comfort in and hold on to, are some of the challenges we face. Father added that we needed a strong prayer life and an intimacy with Jesus before we are sent out on Mission .
The participants also had their own “Road to Emmaus”. This was done by a random selection of prayer partners who journeyed with each other during the retreat and were encouraged to continue doing so post retreat.
Fr. Andrew's personal sharing; his knowledge, his simplicity and most important— “his availability” helped the group immensely as they journeyed together during the retreat.

A solid hard hitting retreat appropriate for leaders in prayer groups and other ministries . It was an absorbing programme of talks, listening , sharing, praise and worship, prayer, reflection, holy hour, celebrating the Eucharist and reconciliation that came together to make us more aware and definitely renewed.
We are grateful to all those who laboured to organise this seminar. Thank you people and also to the retreat master Rev Fr. Andrew Manikam.

Melaka- Johor Charismatic Rally

Dear Friends,
The Malacca/Johor (MJ) Diocesan Service Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal through the grace of God will be organizing a Charismatic Rally from the 23 to 25 November 2007 in MAJODI, Plentong to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of this “Amazing Grace”.
It all began 40 years ago at the Duquesne University where the Holy Spirit ignited the flame of a new Pentecost within a small group of faculty students where a powerful burst resulted in the “Baptism in the Holy Spirit”. Today we recalled this wonderful experience that have touched our lives and many others over the years and this rally is about bringing all God's people coming together in one place for a moment of listening and celebration our lord's wonderful gift to mankind through his wonderful presence and healing power through the many blessing we received ‘Come Holy Spirit' “Pour Your Spirit in this Place”.
His Lordship Bishop Paul Tan SJ has given his blessings and approved this rally as a Diocesan program. The theme for the rally is in line with the Peninsular Church that is ‘Deepening our Discipleship' with the sub theme ‘Fire of the Spirit'.
We are privilege to have three very gifted Charismatic Presenters for the rally. They have been the renewal for many years speaking in the International Charismatic conventions and retreats.
Since there are only limited seats available we the DST decided to first open the registration for the people of Malacca/Johor (MJ) Diocese to submit their registration forms by the closing date on the 31 July 2007 and only after that we will open the registration to the other Diocese KL & Penang. We urge the people of MJ to fill up the forms and submit to contact person in the said forms in the local renewal prayer groups. We urge that you act immediately to avoid disappointment. Thank You,

Warm Greetings!
Hope you are keeping well. On account of a number of reasons, we are forced to postpone the dates of the ISAO Conference from November to the first half of 2008. One of the reasons is that during the very recent meeting of ICCRS held in Rome , it was decided to organise for the first time the next ICCRS International Leaders' Conference outside Rome , i.e. in South Korea sometime in June, 2009. Therefore, the ISAO Conference in 2008 could be a preparation of the ICCRS event.
